Congratulating Mark Doris on Achieving Chartership with The CIOB
Starfish Construction is delighted to announce that Mark Doris, Starfish Construction Senior Project Manager, has successfully achieved full membership status with The Chartered Institute of Building (CIOB).
As the world’s largest and most influential professional body for construction management and leadership, the institute members are professionals dedicated to the industry who are upholding best practices.
Commenting on his achievement, Mark told us, "I have been working at Starfish Construction for over 11 years, and it's been quite the journey. My role, along with the company in general, has grown and developed over these years. I started as a roofer and site foreman, transitioning into a supervisor, then progressing to Project Manager and eventually into my current role as Senior Project Manager.
During my time at Starfish Construction, I have now completed an SVQ 4 in construction management, my SVQ 5 in construction senior management, been recently accepted as a Member of the Institute of Roofing (MIoR) and this most recent achievement in being accepted as a Member of The Chartered Institute of Building (MCIOB).
I am proud of my industry progression and recognise the critical role Starfish Construction and my colleagues have also played in helping me develop. Throughout this time and while studying and attending night school to complete my HNC, the business and Tommy Cadden Starfish Construction's HSQE Director have supported me and encouraged me enormously.
I hope that my own experiences will allow me to help other Starfish Construction employees in their journey toward industry accredited status in the future.”
Joe Fay, a fellow MCIOB and Starfish Construction Associate Director, welcomed Mark to the CIOB and also commented, “I’ve worked closely with Mark for several years now, and what is continually evident to me is Mark’s commitment to the business and the industry. Mark demonstrates the skillsets and approach that means he will be a welcome addition to the MCIOB.
